If you are having mold issues, then I would strongly advise against putting a mattress directly on the floor. There's a very good chance the mattress and floor under it could turn moldy. Use some sort of frame to raise it up and allow air circulation under the bed, even if it's just an inch.QueenBex wrote: I discovered a good amount of damp/mould on the ceiling so I've had to sort that out.

Good advice! Thanks! It certainly is a pain in the backside to try and sort out!

Re: Bedroom Tales
I've put up a thread in the Non- Video game projects section which shows my upcycled chest of drawers.
I also found this little gem in a charity shop the other week;
Figured it be perfect for little items, buttons, needles etc.
I'm sanding it down to take off the green. Upon closer inspection, it's completely handmade, rough and sturdy, with odd angles, a fantastic find to be sure!

Re: Bedroom Tales
I really should get a picture of that little set of drawers some time now that it's finished...
In the meantime, those with an interest in repurposing items will be pleased to know my Uncle gave me a cabinet and after a thorough clean and a fun time drilling to the wall, I have turned it into my own curiosity cabinet. Full of curious little things.
I feel like this bedroom decoration is one HUGE crafting project with little targets and challenges along the way. (just in case you were wondering why I was still updating you guys).
Especially as money is tight, it's amazing to wander around charity shops and find relatives pulling things out the woodworks for you. There's going to be very few items in my bedroom that doesn't have some story attached to it. Not to mention the fact that I'll have my very own crafting corner/ base of operations once everything is complete. It's not quite a separate workshop that I've always dreamed of having but it's darn well the next best thing! I have lots of projects running through my head that I can start on once everything is complete. and I'll be able to have my sewing machine out all the time too for those random I NEED TO SEW SOMETHING RIGHT NOW moments.

Re: Bedroom Tales
I would love that... I have to keep my sewing machine crammed into a corner of the living room behind a table and it's such a faff to get it set up that I hardly ever use it!QueenBex wrote:Not to mention the fact that I'll have my very own crafting corner/ base of operations once everything is complete. Re: Bedroom Tales
I couldn't move the bed out it was too huge, but had covered it in sheets etc. We were trying to clean the damp/mould off my ceiling. Not naming names, someone decided to stand on my bed to reach the bits above it. Needless to say, someone fell through as the bed snapped.CitrusOda wrote:Wow that "Little gem" is soo cute! It was wood, it was cheap. It broke within a couple of months of buying, whilst I slept on it, I guess a bodge job wasn't going to last that long, especially if all a persons weight is stood upon that weak corner...
I got rather upset and threw the matress out too, which in hindsight, perhaps I shouldn't have done, although the springs were coming out of the sides.
Long story short, I now have a new bed, only just got it too, just a few shelves and my bedroom will be complete!
Can't wait to show off pictures of my crafty corner!
