Sprite Stitch Board!

I need a bit of help with this pattern, I've been trying to get it right for a bit now and I'm having no luck. I'm using KGChart and photoshop atm.
Here is the image I would like to use, it has to be 96 x 96count / 6"x6" and its on 16ct aida.

a cleaned up wallpaper version I found. :o

I'm not good with making patterns, I feel like I keep making the image worse by trying to alter things, if someone would like to give this a shot, I'd really appreciate it alot.

(I'm in no rush at all and if this doesn't work out I have a bunch of other idea's, I just really loved Cave Story! ^^ )

Hi Digitlanalog,

I think I won't be able to make a proper pattern with this image, because it's quite blurry... have you another source image for this ?
