I'm going to do this on perforated paper so that I can sew the sheets together when finished (I don't want to damage the thread), and the total size is gigantic!
As for the numerous colours, I've been stitching for quite a long time now and I have so many different thread colors, I can't even count them. On the first pdf (bottom right), I'm only missing 15 colors, which I'll order on Ebay.
It's going to be awesome! I wonder how long it will take me to finish it!
WIPs :
- Portal icons and Aperture Science logo
- The Name of the Doctor
Can anyone possibly tell me where the original image came from and/or where the sprites came from? I'd love to make a 4th gen and 5th gen using these types of sprites, but I can't find good enough originals! Thanks!
This was exactly what i was looking for! I've been working on it for about 2 weeks now, have 3 of the 270 pages done! :S By my estimates it will take between 5000-6000 hours of stitching time to finish! Guess I wont have it ready for the holidays this year...maybe by 2020!

I haven't checked every page, but they seem to line up great, i printed from kg chart, not the pdf. I will be using 4 pieces of cloth and joining them since cloth that big was not available to me.

i plan on overlapping the cloth and stitching (very carefully) through both pieces at once. maybe 4-5 stitches wide to make sure its stable. I do not plan to frame this one, i think i would look nicer hanging wall-scroll style, so i don't need to worry about the joined areas being under a lot of tension. I've tested my idea on smaller pieces and it seems to work well, the bump was almost invisible, and with all the color going on i don't think it will be noticeable.

Oh my! Now theres a big project to steal my heart. I had considered doing the epic pokemon stitches, but I always thought if I did I'd go ahead and do them all, but having them all in one huge stitch like this is very handy! Plus, awesome picture, love the positioning of them all down to the beautiful top section. Oh this is definately going on my to-do list!

I might, soon. I'm convincing the bf to get me a custom-sized fabric to do it on for Christmas, else I'll just get lots of smaller pieces and stitch them together.
